Welcome to the blog! Where I will be keeping everyone informed with weekly posts on new content, features, problems, and ideas.
My name is Christian, and I’m a programmer from Michigan, USA. I started developing Alien Survival 4 months ago and after 1400+ hours it’s starting to look like a game! Here are some things I’ve acomplished.
- A standalone server
- Server authoritative comms.
- Inventory/crafting system.
- 50+ items (models & icons)
- Weapons (shooting & reloading)
- Health, food, & water system.
- Vegetation (10 trees, 2 bushes, 3 grass)
- 3km x 3km environment
- User accounts system.
- Anti-cheat system.
- Detailed alien model
That’s about all I can think of off the top of my head. There’s still a lot to be done. One of which is a procedural animation system. Currently, I’m blending animations between states, and it doesn’t look pretty. I will try to get started on this within the week and have some performance results by next Friday.
Over the past two days, I’ve been working on a new look for the website, which was long overdue. Along with the visual changes, I removed a lot of unnecessary filler and added more relevant information.
I will try my best to get these out to you guys every Friday. Today is more of a greeting/recap. You can expect more detailed posts in the future.
